Like AC air filters, it is recommended you change your furnace filters every 90 days or 3 months. This applies to standard thickness furnace filters between 1" - 2". For thicker furnace filters, the replacement interval increases to 9 months for 3" - 4" thick filters and 12 months for 5" thick furnace filters.
